The cake has the orangish flavor with a light orange color and is a soft and light cake. Moreover, we use the orange zest from the orange that helps the flavor burst through in each bite. Using oil instead of butter makes it moister.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I love about this cake is the texture, soft and moist, and flavorful. The texture is more that of a pound cake though, but this one is easy to make and measure. The most satisfying part of this recipe is the fresh orange juice used here. This citrus cake brings warmth and so much flavor, the fresh orange juice gives it a light yellow color! This cake yields a medium-sized bar of cake enough for 3 to 4 people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ingredients<\/h3>

    1\/2 cup of curd or substitute with 2eggs<\/span><\/p><\/li>

  • <\/span>

    1 orange<\/span><\/p><\/li>

  • <\/span>

    2 tbsp orange zest<\/span><\/p><\/li>

  • <\/span>

    1\/4 cup cooking oil<\/span><\/p><\/li>

  • <\/span>

    1 cup of maida\/all-purpose flour<\/span><\/p><\/li>

  • <\/span>

    1 tsp baking powder<\/span><\/p><\/li>

  • <\/span>

    1\/2 tsp baking soda<\/span><\/p><\/li>

  • <\/span>

    1\/4 cup fresh orange juice<\/span><\/p><\/li>

  • <\/span>

    1\/4 cup milk<\/span><\/p><\/li>

  • <\/span>

    2 to 3 drops of orange food color (completely optional)<\/span><\/p><\/li>

  • <\/span>

    2 to 3 tbsp powdered sugar for decoration (optional)<\/span><\/p><\/li><\/ul><\/div>

    Directions<\/h3>
    • Collect orange zest from an orange using a grater and keep it aside.\"eggless\"eggless<\/li>
    • Then add in 1\/2 cup of sugar, 1\/2 cup of curd, 2 tbsp orange zest, and 1\/4 cup of cooking oil in a mixing bowl.\"eggless\"eggless\"eggless\"eggless<\/li>
    • Using a fork or a whisk, mix everything well until the sugar is completely dissolved.\"eggless<\/li>
    • This step is completely optional. Add 1 to 2 drops of orange food color for a nice orangish look.\"eggless<\/li>
    • Then, sieve in 1 cup maida\/all-purpose flour, 1 tsp baking powder, and 1\/2 tsp baking soda into a mixing bowl.\"eggless\"eggless<\/li>
    • Pour the wet ingredients & using a spatula\/fork mix together all the ingredients by cut & fold method.\"eggless<\/li>
    • Add 1\/4 cup of milk and mix well. \"eggless<\/li>
    • Furthermore, add in 1\/4 cup of fresh orange juice. \"eggless<\/li>
    • Fold in the mixture until it is thoroughly mixed and combined well. Mix until a smooth batter is formed.\"eggless<\/li>
    • Now, grease some oil & dust off with some flour on the cake mold.<\/li>
    • Then, add the prepared mixture into the cake mold and double-tap to let the air bubbles escape.\"eggless<\/li>
    • Preheat a big kadai with a wire stand inside, in medium flame for 7 to 10 min.\"orange<\/li>
    • After 7 minutes, place the cake mold & close the kadai.\"orange<\/li>
    • Cook it on low flame for 40-60min or bake in a preheated oven at 200 degree celsius for 40 to 50 min.<\/li>
    • To test if the cake is done, insert a toothpick in the center of the cake. If it comes out clean, the cake is done. \"orange<\/li>
    • Let it cool for 15 minutes, before unmoulding. Once it is cooled, remove from mold.\"eggless<\/li>
