Directions
- Steaming Eggs
- Break 4 eggs into a bowl and add required salt, 1/4 to 1/2 tsp pepper powder and mix well using a fork or spoon.
- Grease a pan or any container with oil and transfer the egg mixture into that bowl.
- Place it inside an Idli cooker and steam it for 15-20 minutes.
- After 15 minutes, run a knife through the edges and cut the steamed eggs into the desired shape and keep it aside.
- Batter for frying eggs
- In a mixing bowl add 1/4 cup of maida, 1/4 cup of cornflour, 1/2 tbsp chili powder.
- Now add water little by little and mix well to form a semi-thick batter. ( I used 1/4 cup water + 2 tbsp of water )
- Coat the cooked eggs and fry it in hot oil. Once they become crispy take it off from the oil and set aside.
- Preparing Egg Manchurian
- Heat 1 tbsp oil in a kadai or pan.
- Add 1 tbsp finely chopped ginger, 1 tbsp finely chopped garlic and saute it for a minute until the raw smell disappears.
- Then add 1 cup of finely chopped onions and cook until it turns translucent.
- Now add 1/2 cup of bell peppers/capsicum of any color and cook for a couple of minutes.
- Meanwhile, prepare a cornflour paste. Mix 2 tsp cornflour & 1/4 cup of water well without forming any lumps & keep it aside.
- Now its time to add the sauces – 1 tbsp chili sauce, 2 tbsp tomato ketchup, & 1/2 tbsp soya sauce and mix well.
- Add the salt required for the gravy & 1/2 tsp of pepper powder. Mix well.
- If you want the recipe to be dry then we can add the fried eggs, mix with the sauces, and turn off the heat after a couple of minutes.
- But if you want little gravy then add the prepared cornflour paste along with 1 cup of water.
- Once the gravy thickens up a bit add the fried eggs and cook for another 2 minutes.
- Finally, garnish with chopped spring Onions.
