Ingredients
1 cup Seedless Dates
3/4 cup Water
1 tbsp Butter
1/2 cup Cooking Oil
3/4 cup Sugar
1/2 cup Milk
1 tbsp Vinegar
11/2 cup Maida
1 tsp Baking Powder
1/2 tsp Baking Soda
1/8 tsp Salt
1/4 cup Hot Water
Directions
- Boiling the dates
- Heat a saucepan, add 1 cup of seedless dates and 3/4 cup of water.
- Once it starts to boil, add in 1 tsp butter & mix well.
- Cook until the dates turns soft.
- Once the water is dried off, switch off the flame and allow it to cool completely.
- Switch off the flame & allow it to cool.
- Once the dates are cooled transfer it to a blender. Blend to a coarse paste and keep aside. (Do not add water, while grinding the dates)
- Making Cake Batter
- Add 1 tbsp of white vinegar to 1/2 cup of milk.
- Mix it well and keep it aside.
- In another bowl, add 1/2 cup cooking oil and 3/4 cup of sugar.
- Mix and add the curdled milk kept aside.
- Mix until sugar is dissolved.
- Then, add the ground dates paste.
- Combine them well.
- Sieve in 11/2 cup of maida, 1 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp baking soda, and 1/8 tsp salt.
- Fold the batter. Once it starts difficult to mix, start adding 1/4 cup of hot water gradually and mix the batter to a smooth batter.
- Cake batter is ready.
- Pour the cake batter to a 8 inch loaf pan lined with butter paper.
- Level it and add some chopped dates on the top of the batter.
- Baking
- Preheat the kadai in low flame for 10 minutes.
- Now place the cake pan in the kadai over a wire stand. Bake it for 45 to 50 minutes or untill a toothpick inserted comes out clean. OR (Bake in a preheated oven of 180D C or 350F for about 45 to 50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.)
- Allow the cake to cool completely before demolding.
- Once cooled, cut & serve the soft-moist dates cake.

Notes
- Baking Time varies based on the cake mold. So start checking the cake is baked or not by around 40 minutes. If not bake for another 5 minutes. Bake until the tooth pic inserted in comes out clean.
