These pancakes boast a golden, slightly crispy edge while maintaining a soft, tender center. The secret? It’s all in the baking powder combined with the buttermilk (or milk with vinegar) mixture, giving these pancakes their unbeatable fluffiness!

How to make pancakes fluffy and soft?

Typically, basic pancake recipes call for flour, baking powder, sugar, vanilla extract, milk, and eggs. To enhance the rise of the pancakes, vinegar is often added to activate the baking soda. Baking soda reacts most effectively when paired with an acidic component such as white vinegar or lemon juice. Alternatively, if you don’t have lemon juice available, you can substitute it with buttermilk, as indicated in the recipe. Additionally, a thicker batter consistency contributes to achieving fluffier pancakes.

What to Serve With Pancakes?

Butter, maple syrup, dates syrup, confectioners’ sugar, honey, jams, preserves, sweetened whipped cream, chocolate syrup, and fresh fruit are all delicious toppings for homemade pancakes.

How to make basic pancake recipe?

Basic Pancake Recipe | Light and Fluffy | with step-by-step photos and description. Delightfully soft and fluffy on the inside, these pancakes are made even better when drenched in maple syrup or honey and topped with melted butter. Here are some key tips for cooking perfect pancakes: Begin by preheating a high-quality non-stick pan or griddle over medium heat. Once it’s heated, reduce the heat to low-medium and allow it to settle for approximately two minutes. Lightly grease the pan with a small amount of butter to prevent sticking.

Use a 1/4 cup measuring cup to pour the batter, ensuring evenly sized pancakes. Start pouring from the centre and continue in a slow, circular motion to achieve a rustic round shape. Allow the pancakes to cook thoroughly. Avoid rushing them on high heat or flipping them prematurely. Wait until the underside turns a beautiful golden brown colour and bubbles form on the surface before flipping. Once cooked, generously spread butter over the pancakes and serve with maple syrup or honey for a delicious breakfast treat.
